It's been an incredibly long time since I've updated the News section, so I thought I'd just jot a line to say that HerbertFamilyTree.com had a record 819 visits during October 2003. Not bad when you consider that we're only of major interest to other Herberts! The main attraction remains the forum and there are now loads of really interesting posts on there, so use it to the full and maybe you might find that long lost Herbert you've been looking for.

You may have noticed that the HerbertFamilyTree.com Guest Book has vanished and that all roads now point to the Herbert Family Forum. The reason for this is that the vast majority of people using the guest book were trying to make contact with other Herberts or find out about there family tree. Rather than restricting the message to a short greeting, the forum allows you to enter much more detail and also receive responses directly to your inbox. So please, don't be shy and try the Herbert Family Forum today!

As the first in a series of site upgrades, the interactive family tree can now be surfed using a drop-down list of family members. Simply select who you'd like to know more about and click 'Go'. Easy peasy!

Jeremy and Vicky Herbert are delighted to announce that their first child, Rhys William Charles Herbert was born on Wednesday 8th May, 2002 at 19:53. Rhys is named after his Grandfather, Raymond William Charles Herbert, Great Grandfather, William John Herbert and Great, Great Grandfather Charles Herbert. "Rhys" was chosen as it follows the baby's Welsh genealogy. Baby weighed in at 7lb 3oz and mother and baby are doing well. Pictures to follow very shortly.

Jeremy Herbert has completed his work on condensing and reediting the footage from the Herbert Millennium reunion and selected excerpts are now available in the reunion section of the site. Just click on the link for the video you wish to watch, or right-click the link and click "Save target as" to save the video to your hard drive.

Vicky Herbert is now almost 29 weeks pregnant and showing it! In fact, she's a little bit bigger than expected, so baby's had another scan. All is normal and baby is healthy and very active. Baby's sex has been confirmed, but once again I won't spoil the surprise for anyone who doesn't want to know!

Val Herbert has delivered the goods once again! More details have emerged about Christopher Herbert's family from the 1861 UK census.

In 1861, Christopher was living with his wife Elizabeth at 3 Eign Street, All Saints, Hereford in the district of Leominster. Christopher, a Baker was born around 1815 in St. Martins, Worcester and Elizabeth in 1816, also in St. Martins, Worcester.

Happy new year to all the family! Apologies for the gremlins that invaded the site over Christmas. At present, my web hosts' ASP rendering software seems to be down, hence some of the interactive features have been unavailable. I have restored the news section, but am still awaiting a reply from the people who look after my server for a resolution to the guest book being down. Watch this space!
